Yamaha’s Maintenance Certifications are focused on providing outboard maintenance certifications to current and aspiring marine technicians. These certifications include portable, midrange, inline (4 cylinder), and v-engine platforms to support the education of marine technicians.

Certification Objectives
Yamaha Maintenance Certification exams will test student efficiencies in performing 20, 100, 500, and 1,000 hour service procedures:
Core Competencies
- Timing belt service
- Valve train adjustments
- Fuel filter service
- Compression tests
- Maintenance charts
Additional Learning Outcomes
Students will also be introduced to the following:
- Yamalube® lubricants
- Corrosion prevention

Student Pathway
Yamaha recommends technicians complete Introduction to Outboard Systems (ITOS) before they complete Yamaha Marine Maintenance Certification exams.
